Most Players are testing mouse-pads and gaming-mice without
knowing what they really want. In most cases people don’t
think about what they really need or which pad might bet he
best fort hem. To sad that often the wrong request is asked
to a pad owing to wrong expectations of a Player who will be
disappointed in the end.
It
is important to know which pad ist he best for oneself. The
misbelieve is wide spread that a mouse pad used by a
professional Gamer is the best for oneself. I hope you all
know the differences of the other guides:
The
arm-aimer
The
arm-aimer is somebody using the whole arm to move the mouse,
regarding:
- aim
- movement
- handling
... plain talking, the whole or the lower arm is used to
move the mouse.
This kind of aimer often uses a low-sense and a large
mouse-pad.
The
wrist -aimer
The
wrist-aimer only uses the Hand to move the mouse, regarding:
- aim
- movement
- handling
... He is a person who leave his wrist on the mouse-pad to
move the mouse.
This kind of aimer uses a mid to high-sense and a mid to
small sized mouse-pad.
How
do I find my handling?
There
are many opportunities to create your handling best… but
how?
First
of all you have to find out what your style is. Are you an
arm- or wrist-aimer.
This is the first and most important step.
Now you have to test yourself and clarify the following
factors.
Pad-factors:
-
Do I need a small or a large Pad?
- Do the space on the pad suffice?
- Should the pad be rough or fine?
- Should the surface be hard or soft?
Player-factors:
-
Do I need more drag to aim while sliding the mouse?
- How should the mouse slide? Hard or easy?
- Does my skin react with the material of the Pad?
- Does the Handling of my mouse fit to the pad?
- Do I prefer a hard or soft handling of my mouse with the
pad?
- ...
There
are many factors influencing the decision for right
equipment. But there is one thing you can be sure of.
Imagine one situation in CS and retrace it.
Do
I play fast and aggressive… or calm and relaxed?
You
can watch these different very easily. You will recognize by
watching different players that some of them do really quick
movements and some like going on morphium like moving there
mouse very slow and sleepy.
But
both of them achieve their target. They made their decision
for their handling with their sensitivity. Why?
A Player moving permanently will never play that slow,
because he won’t be able to react that fast in situations
demanding to frag many enemies in a narrow place e.g.
de_nuke. Our morpheme junkies won’t challenge these kinds
of situations because he knows he would get in trouble.
Both
have decided for this handling and both play well, generally
taken.
How can
I find my factors?
There
are varieties even with cloth-pads, but it’s a fact that
cloth pads have a higher drag than Plastic or
Aluminium-pads.
A cloth-pad, although it is made of the same matirial can be
harder than another.
QPad
XXL 5mm
This
Pad has a gage of 5mm, you will really feel the softness of
the pad while plaing with it. The drag is lower than on
common cloth-pads. This pad with such a thickness is the
complete opposite to a Plastic-pad.
QPAD
XXL 1mm
This
pad with a gage of 1mm is much thinner than others. Because
of this thinness it allows more contact to the ground in
this case the table.
Where
ist he difference?
The 1mm pad is as I said thinner and allows more contact to
the table than the 5mm pad, as a result of that it is
harder.
With the 1mm pad you can really feel the table the 5mm pad
in contrast doese not allow any contact to the table
Savvy?
How
can I balance scopes?
There are additives like mouse-skates or silicon fluid to
enforce qualities.
Normal silicon spray should be available in the hardware
store. But there are special fluids for pads.
func
liquid
|
func
liquid is a silicon containing fluid which should be
applied very carefully. You can apply it on your pad
with 1qcm and allot it with a sponge. You can also
apply it to your mouse-feet.
The
fluid last for 6-12 months and has the effect on a
plastic-pad that you can move your mouse by only
blowing on it. |
Hyperglides
|
Hyperglides
are made of Teflon and have an enormous lifespan. They
are front-runners for cloth-pads. I would not
recommend them for plastic-pads because they dull the
padsurface and fray.

The
Mouse-Skates-Rule!
Follow this rule to arise the lifespan of your Pad and
Skate.
-
Hard Pad, soft Skatez.
- Soft Pad, hard Skatez.
I’m
using a Qpad 1mm with Hyperglides and by following the rule
i only need to change them every 2 years.
Yeah,
I got 1600 DPI!
Who cares? I will briefly explain to you where the
difference of the DPI Value is and how they affect you.
|
|
With
800 DPI you can drag the mouse from one end of the Pad
to the other and youll geht the same turn in the Game.
With 800 DPI the turn will always be the same not
affected by the speed you move your mouse. |
With
400 DPI you will get the same turn by doing a slow
movement from on to the other and of the pad. But by
moving the mouse faster over the same distance
you’ll geht only 50 or 75 percent of the turn in the
game. |
This
ist he difference, the sensing with 400 DPI is much lower,
thus 800 DPI are more accurate.
